About Us

Vanessa J. Anton, Founder and Lead Instructor

Vanessa has worked with families as a doula, as a child birth educator and as a parenting educator since 1996. After completing her medical training in the emergency care field she embarked on making CPR more accessible to families and started Common Sense CPR in 2011. Since embarking on creating Common Sense CPR she met her husband Geoff and together they not only specialize in educating families but now consult companies in the health, fitness and education industries. When not found teaching or consulting you can find Vanessa walking her two dogs either on the sidewalks in New York City or on the beach at Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.

Geoff Gohacki, BLS Instructor, Child Passenger Safety Technician Instructor

Geoff has been a teacher and a professional chef for over 20 years and first became interested in emergency response after preforming first aid on one of his students. Geoff has two sons, who when they were younger, liked to live on the wild side. Because of this, he has focused on child safety and responding to emergencies involving children. A student before a teacher, Geoff is constantly researching and learning the newest techniques in CPR, AED, First Aid and Child Passenger Safety. Geoff is an American Heart Association BLS Instructor and an American Red Cross certified instructor of CPR, AED, and First Aid. He is also a certified instructor through the Health and Safety Institute. Geoff is also a nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Technician Instructor through Safekids USA. When not teaching, he can be found playing tennis, navigating trails, or exploring the beaches and mountains of Puerto Rico with his wife Vanessa.
